The Laws of Art and Nature, in Knowing, Judging, Assaying, Fining, Refining, and Inlarging the Bodies Confin'd Metals, 2 parts in 1 vol., third issue with cancel general title printed in red and black, lacking engraved portrait and initial & final blanks, with 43 engraved illustrations in text, some full-page, woodcut ornamental initials, a little browned, staining towards end, mostly marginal, old ink stamp of Medical Society of London to title, later half calf, rubbed, rebacked, [Duveen p.468; Hoover 633; Ferguson II p.186; Wellcome IV 349], folio, for and sold by Stephen Bateman, 1686.
