Thomas Love Peacock's copy.- Vico (Enea) Le imagini delle donne auguste intagliate in istampa di rame... libro primo, first edition, Thomas Love Peacock's copy, second issue (with Roman numerals to illustrations), collation: a-c B-Z Aa-Dd4, fine engraved pictorial title and full-page illustrations, woodcut historiated initials, final f. with woodcut printer's device verso, otherwise blank, some spotting or staining, 17th century morocco, gilt, sympathetically rebacked, central arms partially erased, corners worn, rubbed, Venice, Enea Vico & Vincenzo Valgrisi, 1557; and another by the same, small 4to (mentioned 221 x 157mm.) (2)
⁂ Provenance: 'This beautiful volume was purchased by me at the sale of the library of T. L. Peacock Esq., author of "Headlong Hall", in June 1866.' (ink inscription to front pastedown).
