Wellington (Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of, army officer and prime minister, 1769-1852) Letter signed to George Dawson, 1p., folio, Headquarters, Paris, 1st October 1815, accompanying the decorations of a Knight of the Order of Maximilian Joseph, King of Bavaria, "has sent me for you in testimony of His Majesty's approbation of your Services, and conduct, particularly in the late Battles fought in the Netherlands", and Wellington writes that he has applied to the Prince Regent for the honoured officers to accept the decoration; and 3 others, comprising: (1) Printed form for a statement of Dawson-Damer's military service, printed form with autograph insertions; (2) Printed notice from George Nayler of the College of Arms, 29th January 1816, announcing the Prince Regent's nomination of Dawson-Damer to the Order of the Bath (duplicate), folds, browned (4).
