Italy.- Bifolium from a vast Bible, with Exodus 8:17-9:21 and 23:11-24:18, manuscript on vellum, text in Latin, two large conjoined leaves, each with double column of 58 lines in a good Romanesque hand, capitals set off in margin (in common medieval fashion), 2-line red initials, running titles in red capitals, recovered from reuse in a later binding and hence with scuffs, small holes (some repaired with modern paper), large stains (with fols. 1r and 2v almost illegible), fair condition, 510 by 320mm.; bound in cloth-covered pasteboards, Italy, [second half of the eleventh century, or opening of twelfth century].

⁂ Provenance: Acquired from Bruce Ferrini (1950-2010) in 1989 by the Schøyen Collection (their MS. 588), and kept in London since then.
