An Illustrated Catalogue of British Foreign Shells, 46 finely hand-coloured engraved plates, contemporary half morocco, gilt spine with shell motif, 1856 § Jeffreys (John Gwyn) British Conchology, 5 vol., vol.2-5 first edition, vol.1 reprint, 5 hand-coloured frontispieces, 134 lithograph plates, letter from C.Jeffreys (?family member) loosely inserted, a few tipped-in manuscript notes to vol.1, original cloth, [Nissen ZBI 2103], 1904-1864-69; and fourth edition of G.B. ⁂ William Turton (1762-1835) published several works on shells. The genus 'Turtonia' was named in his honour in 1849 by Forbes and Hanley.
