⁂ Originally, this work was intended to be a supplement for “Les Pigeons”, by Knip, Temminck and Prévost, in 30 parts with 150 plates. However, Bonaparte died after the 4th issue, leaving the plates and manuscripts incomplete, which explains the irregular numbering of plates.
