Botany.- Andrews (Henry) The Botanist's Repository, for New, and Rare Plants, 10 vol., 664 hand-coloured engraved plates, some folding, some heightened in gum arabic, some trimmed, sometimes touching image and plate numbers, additional letterpress title to vol.1, index f. to each vol., additional cumulative index to vol.5 and 10, occasional light scattered foxing and light offsetting, Henry Rogers Broughton bookplate, Elizth Brownlow ink ownership inscription to vol.7 and 10 free endpapers, contemporary green armorial straight-grain morocco, gilt, g.e., [Dunthorne 8, Great Flower Books, p. 83; Nissen BBI 2382; Stafleu & Cowan 135], 4to, T. A splendidly bound set of the first edition of this showcase of exotic species. Many of the species represented come from Australia and South Africa.

Provenance: John Bligh, 4th Earl of Darnley (1767–1831), arms on binding; thence to his wife Elizabeth Bligh, née Brownlow; thence their daughter Lady Elizabeth Bligh (d.1872), inscription in volume 10, "Elizth Brownlow, 1843. These books were purchased by me having been the property of my mother" (the younger Elizabeth married her first cousin, Rev. John Brownlow).
