Botany.- Sowerby (James) Account Book for the years of 1805-6, manuscript, 54 pp. including a few blanks, some surface soiling and staining, the odd nick and small marginal tear, a few holes and remnants of blue wrappers to last p., disbound, original wrappers, lower cover lacking blue wrapper, a few stains, worn, 12mo, 1805-6.
⁂ The account book of James Sowerby records all expenses incurred in producing English Botany; or, Coloured Figures of British Plants. Among the listed items are: “4 men colouring, £7.15s.6d; 28 advertisements, £1.1s.0d; 20 collating, £7...”.
