Botany.- Andrews (H.C.) Coloured Engravings of Heaths, 4 vol. in 2, first edition, half-titles to vol.1, 2 and 4 only, engraved dedication f., 288 attractively hand-coloured engraved plates, vol.4 title is a vol.2 title but altered by hand (as often), occasional light scattered foxing and browning, mostly to text, contemporary calf, gilt, rebacked preserving original backstrip, gilt spines with red and black morocco labels, covers a little marked, some light rubbing to extremities, g.e., [Dunthorne 9; Nissen BBI 31; Stafleu & Cowan 134], folio, [1794]-1802-1809-[1830].
⁂ Andrews drew and engraved all this plates, and wrote most of the text. This work exemplifies the 'erica-mania' that dominated English horticulture at the start of the 19th century. With the rare fourth volume, which appeared over a 20 year period from 1810-1830.
