Gatty ink ownership inscription to front free endpapers and titles, cracking to gutters, original cloth, vol.4 rebacked preserving original backstrip, spine ends to 3 vol. chipped and frayed, splitting to joints, a little rubbed and soiled, edges uncut, [Nissen ZBI 1406], 8vo, 1853.
⁂ Charles H. Gatty was a British zoologist, meteorologist, and philanthropist, who funded the Gatty Marine Laboratory in St. Andrews, Scotland.
