⁂ Scarce work, first published c.1700, we can trace no copy at auction since 1969. The author, Peter Anthony Motteux (1663-1718) was a French-born English author and translator. His death in a house of ill-repute was initially regarded as suspicious but ultimately ruled to be accidental by erotic asphyxiation.
