J. Redouté and Marechal and others, occasional foxing, occasional pencil annotations to text vol., Henry Rogers Broughton's bookplate to front pastedowns, handsomely bound in modern burgundy half morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, gilt, edges uncut, [Nissen, BBI 475; Stafleu & Cowan 1392], 4to, Paris, typis C. Panckoucke, 1799-1800.
⁂ A beautifully bound copy of this important flora of North-West Africa illustrated by the best artists of the period. The described plant species were collected by the author during a journey in Algeria and Tunisia during the years 1783-1785. The herbarium of 1,480 specimens was left to the 'Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle' Paris and is now kept as an 'Herbier Historique'.
