Compiled for the Government of Madras, half-title, folding lithographed frontispiece, folding map hand-coloured in outline, 2 hand-coloured plans and elevations, 12 photogravure and 4 lithographed plates, 5 lithographed maps or plans (one printed in blue), bookplate "Presented by the Government of Madras" to front free endpaper, frontispiece little creased at fore-edge, some small and light damp-staining to lower-margin of photogravure plates, some light foxing and browning, mainly to photogravure plates, some light offsetting, original navy half morocco, gilt, spine gilt and with floral motif, few light stains, some wear to extremities, rubbed, folio, Madras, Printed and published by the Superintendent, Government Press, 1908.
⁂ Scarce, we can trace only one other copy at auction in the last 35 years. Ootacamund, also known as Ooty, is a hill station in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Situated in the Nilgiri Hills, it is known by the epithet "King of all the Hill Stations".
