Voyages.- Sarychev (Gavril Andreevich) Account of a Voyage of Discovery to the North-East of Siberia, the Frozen Ocean, and the North-East Sea, 2 vol. in 1, first English edition, 5 engraved plates (3 folding, 2 hand-coloured), light marginal spotting to one or two plates, modern antique-style calf-backed boards, [Hill 1527], 8vo, 1806-07.
⁂ An account of the expedition begun in 1785 and sponsored by the Russian Empress Catherine the Great. Sarychev served as deputy to expedition leader, Captain Joseph Billings. It was the first time that Alaska, the Aleutians, and Unalaska were scientifically surveyed.
