⁂ Fine portrait of a young Sara Coleridge, the English author, translator and daughter of the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his wife Sara Fricker. Edward Nash (1778-1821) was well known for his portrait miniatures. Nash was a friend of Robert Southey and stayed on numerous occasions at his house. A painting by Nash of Edith May Warter, Southey’s daughter, and Sara Coleridge, is held by the National Portrait Gallery.
