Piranesi (Giovanni Battista) Veduta degli Avanzi del Foro di Nerva, from 'Vedute di Roma', etching, an excellent well inked impression of Hind's first state (of four), on thick laid paper with watermark of fleur-de-lis within concentric circles [Hind's no. 3], platemark 475 x 705 mm (18 3/4 x 27 3/4 in), sheet 515 x 750 mm (20 1/4 x 29 1/2 in), minor spotting, light surface dirt and small ink spot in the upper right margin, faint horizontal drying crease with thin strip of conservation tissue verso, unframed, 1770
