The Holy Bible, Conteyning the Old Testament, and the New, black letter, text in double column, in 72 lines, within ruled border, general and NT titles within ornate woodcut borders, calendar in red and black, woodcut decorations and initials, Speed's Genealogies inserted before Genesis (A-C6, without map), 3R3&4 in duplicate, lacking 4B2 & 4B5, the latter supplied in manuscript, front free endpaper with "A prayer to be used before we read ye holy scriptures" in an early hand, general title with ownership inscription dated 1618 to head mostly erased, very small holes affecting single letter and some marginal repairs, very small worming within title and first 5ff. and from 4I6 to end (23ff.), 3H5-3I4 holes and repairs to head with some small loss of text, 3L6, 3U6, 4I5 & 4M1 with repaired tear affecting text or with very small loss, final f. trimmed with small loss, laid down and working loose, couple small holes within text, the odd short tear or small marginal loss, to 2P1 & 3U6 affecting few letters, occasional mostly marginal water- or other staining, slightly obscuring some letters to K4v-K5 & 2Q2v, some light browning and soiling, but overall very good, contemporary blind-stamped panelled calf over wooden boards, old reback, brass centre- and corner-pieces (couple defective, one corner-piece lacking), remains of one clasp, worn at extremities with portions of loss exposing boards, [STC 2226; Herbert 322], folio, Robert Barker, 1613.
