Chess.- Alekhine (Alexander Aleksandrovich, Russian and French chess player, 1892-1946) 2 Typed Letters signed to G. H. Midgley, Honorary Secretary, Manchester Chess Club, 3pp. & 1 envelope, 4to & smaller, Paris, 3rd March 1934 & 15th July 1938, on a variety of Chess related subjects, "The positions of both the No. 2, and No. 4 boards of my exhibition in Manchester are in my opinion, draw. The No. 2 game is drawn because of the repetition of moves, which are practically forced on both sides. In the No.4 game Black has a slight advantage, but I consider this insufficient for a win against the correct defence by White", and asking if the Manchester Guardian would like a commentary by Alekhine on Bejeljubew's challenge to Alekhine for his title of "World Chess Champion" etc., folds.
