Agriculture.- Stevenson (Matthew) The Twelve Moneths, first edition, one engraved plate and 11 full-page engraved illustrations, final f. in facsimile, title with some neat repairs and restoration, some other ff. with neat marginal repairs, once or twice touching letter of text, some light dust-soiling, front free endpapers detached, bound in full calf by Rivière & Son, double morocco spine labels lettered in gilt, some rubbing to joint ends and extremities, g.e., [Wing S5510; Fussell I, pp.72-73; Schwerdt II, p.225], small 4to, M.S. for Thomas Jenner, 1661.

⁂ Scarce first edition of this charmingly illustrated work which not only covers husbandry and gardening but also "Recreations, as Hunting, Hawking, Fishing, Fowling, Coursing, Cockfighting". As well as the engravings depicting the rural activities, there is also a list of "The Principall Fairs in England and Wales" for each month.
