Dow (Christopher) Innovations Unjustly charged upon the Present Church and State, title within double-rule border, woodcut initials and headpieces, errata f. at end, light spotting and browning to title, occasional light foxing, bookplate, 19th century half morocco, rubbed, foot of spine worn, [STC 7090], small 4to, Printed by M.F. for John Clark, 1637.
*** A response by the Laudian Dow to Henry Burton's An Apology of an Appeale and For God, and the King in which he argues that the rise of Puritanism was the chief source of religious conflict in Charles I's reign. Rare at auction, we can trace only 2 other copies in the last 70 years.
