⁂ A scarce and curious work which contains an amusing and somewhat ludicrous survey of marriage customs around the world; the polygamy of the Siamese; the serial monogany of the Japanese; the Arabians who set themselves on fire to get the women to pity them; and the East Indians whose young men are so addicted to "unnatural Vice" that mothers order their daughters to "go almost naked, to attract Men's Love to them."
