[Sarbiewski (Maciej Kazimierz)] The Odes of Casimire, first edition in English, translated by G. H[ills], additional engraved pictorial title (trimmed just touching imprint at foot), preceded by letterpress description leaf, this bearing ink notes dated 1650 to recto, thereafter occasional trimming close to text at fore-edge, some light browning, the odd spot, and faint damp-stains at head towards rear, handsomely bound in eighteenth century black morocco, richly tooled in gilt in panel design and featuring floral and decorative devices, [Wing C1214], by T. W. for Humphrey Moseley, 1646.

⁂ Sarbiewski was a Polish Jesuit, one of the most important neo-Latin poets of the 17th century, whose work was much admired in England. Rare: we can trace only one record at auction (this copy) in last 70 years.
