Souvenir (Butin no. 84)
Oil on canvas, 1995, signed and numbered on label affixed to the frame verso, one of 64 unique works from the deconstructed painting from CR 813-1, published by Anthony d'Offay Gallery, London, mounted and presented in a pale wood frame as specified by the artist, sheet 210 x 210mm (8 1/4 x 8 1/4in)

The present work was a gift from the artist to the present owner. The owner was present at the deconstruction of the painting and was given the opportunity by the artist to choose which of the 60 panels would be made as a gift to him. The work was then framed as per the other 59 in the series as instructed by Richter.
This work will be included in a future update to that artist’s online catalogue raisonné.
