Biblia Sacra ad optima quaeque veteris, ut vocant, tralationis, collation: A8 a-z8 aa-zz8 A-Z8 Aa-Hh8, double column, title within ornate woodcut border, numerous woodcut illustrations by Bernard Salomon, with final blank f., several ownership inscriptions in German and Latin to endpapers and title, including one dated 1572 and a prayer to St Augustine, ink-stamp to title, title border and illustrations to R2&3 with some hand-colouring, a7&8 repaired tears affecting some words, L8 burn-hole affecting portion of woodcut and text to verso, some early ink underlining and annotation, few small wormholes within text of first c.50 and last c.100 ff., some light browning and staining, lacking rear free endpapers, hinges cracked with title and some prelims/Index ff. working loose, contemporary ornately blind-stamped panelled pigskin over wooden boards, metal clasps, remains of paper label to head of spine, few wormholes, rubbed, extremities quite worn with some small loss, [Pettegree 57382], 8vo (180 x 120mm.), Lyon, apud Jean de Tournes, 1554.
