⁂ A rare first printing of these letters by Newton which have been described as “one of the most precious and important documents for the study and interpretation of Newtonian thought” (Koyré, Newtonian Studies (1965), p. 202). Herein Newton gives his views on the nature of gravity, the formation of the solar system, action-at-a-distance, his foresight of modern theory of galaxy formation, and much else.
