Gill (Eric) Madonna and Child, plaster cast, initialed by the artist in base, numbered 87 and with inscription "For Evan G.", loss to hand, chipping to feet, some rubbing and surface soiling, [Collins, Eric Gill The Sculpture 33], 185 x 55 x 60mm., [1912-13].
⁂ Part of an edition of 90 of this work, created from plasticine casts. Each as intended to be individually hand-painted though there may have been others left over from the edition that remained unpainted.
Provenance: From the collection of Evan Gill, purchased directly from the estate.
