Spender (Sir Stephen, poet, 1909-95) Autograph Letter signed "Stephen" to Clemence, 2pp., 8vo, University College, Oxford, [?1930], "My nose has just bled with unprecedented fury, so that I too am sitting in a pool of blood. I was so pleased with the display that I called in my scout for assistance, in order to impress him. Some such story will probably get round Univ. as that I attempted suicide and then repented of it. The college is very empty at present, as some of it have been sent down for painting Shelley with blue ink", folds, browned, laid down with tape.
