Gill (Eric) Rubbing of a slate paperweight "I am an Ambassador in Bonds...", designed for Lady Cawdor, initialled and dated by Gill at foot, graphite on india paper with repaired tear to margin and small staple hole to margin upper corner, 1937; together with two other rubbings of works commissioned by Lady Cawdor, a pencil design for the first work on paper headed "Cawdor Castle, Nairn", book-keeping notes relating to work executed for Lord and Lady Cawdor and rubbings of an unknown woodcut by Gill together with a trial proof of the same with initialled note at foot "Block destroyed. E.G.", v.s. (7)
⁂ A charming group, the last item seemingly the only remnant of a now-lost work. The Cawdor items are recorded in The Inscriptional Work of Eric Gill as 692A, 692B and 748A.
