Clare (John, poet, farm labourer, and naturalist, 1793-1864) [Poems], manuscript, one of six copies by Charles Pollington of Boston [Lincolnshire] with his presentation inscription, title and 355pp., monochrome watercolour frontispiece of Helpston, slightly browned, original half morocco, slightly rubbed, upper joint split, gilt spine, rubbed, y.e., 8vo, 1839.
⁂ Ink presentation inscription at beginning: "This sixth Copy of Clare's Poems is presented to my Dear Grand-daughter Margaret Pollington of London to perpetuate the remembrance of her Grandfather Charles Pollington. Boston, 1851." Charles Pollington (1775-1859), of Boston, Lincolnshire.
