Golden Cockerel Press.- Chaucer (Geoffrey) The Canterbury Tales, 4 vol., one of 485 copies on paper, wood-engraved decorative borders, illustrations and initials by Eric Gill, initials printed in red, blue and black, some spotting to edges and endpapers, vol.1 & 3 with very occasional staining to lower right corner, with an assorted group of 11 wood-engravings from the work (one of which numbered 2/5 and signed by the artist) loosely inserted, original russet morocco-backed patterned-paper boards, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, t.e.g., others uncut, spines a little faded, some scuffing to spine tips and bands, usual wear to corners, [Chanticleer 63; Gill 281], small folio, Waltham St.Lawrence, Golden Cockerel Press, 1929-31.
