The Universal Angler, Made so, by Three Books of Fishing..., parts 1 & 2 only (of 3), title to part 1 with engraved cartouche (bound before general title and with bookplate to verso), engraved illustrations of fish, 2pp. music to "The anglers song", final blank to part 1, part 2 with imprimatur f. and engraved monogram to title, lacking second title to part 1 without cartouche, part 2 lacking A5-8 ("To the Reader") as usual, O2 loss to lower outer corner not affecting text, [2]B6 fore-margin soiled with few holes, occasional light soiling or small staining, but generally a clean copy, contemporary mottled calf, later morocco spine labels, some wear to spine ends and corners, rubbing to joints and extremities, endpapers renewed, joints starting but holding firm, [Pforzheimer 1052; Wing W674], small 8vo, for Richard Marriott, 1676.
⁂ Includes the fifth edition of Walton's Compleat Angler, and the first edition of Cotton's work. The Universal Angler was published with a third part, by Robert Venables, not included in this copy, but as stated on the general title-page the work could be had "bound together, or sold each of them severally".
