Golden Cockerel Press.- Mathers (E.Powys) Procreant Hymn, one of 200 copies, this copy with a suite of seven engraved plates each initialled or signed by Eric Gill loosely inserted, original cloth, light browning to spine and cover margins, slight bumping to spine tips, [Chanticleer 37; Evan Gill 277], 8vo, Waltham St.Lawrence, Golden Cockerel Press, 1926.
⁂ Evan Gill's bibliography initially stated that there were three alternative designs only, namely for 'God Sending' (Physick 364), 'Earth Inviting' (365), and 'Earth Wrestling/ Dalliance' (366), however in his copy of the bibliography (present in lot 217), Gill has supplied a printed correction to state that in fact four alternate designs were sold, priced at two guineas, including 'Earth Receiving' (367). In addition there is a signed proof of 'Earth Waiting' and signed numbered editions of 'God Sending' and 'Earth Wrestling/ Dalliance', each numbered 13/15 and matching the design found in the printed book.
