Twelve original aquatints of modern Brighton with short descriptions by the artist and an introduction by Lord Alfred Douglas, [one of 200 copies], 12 aquatint plates by John Piper, text printed on blue paper, contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper, some light offsetting, including to plates, some scattered faint spotting, original buckram-backed marbled boards, printed label on upper cover, some light spotting, board extremities lightly faded and quite worn, oblong folio, Curwen Press for Duckworth, 1939.

⁂ John Betjeman, who was a friend of John and Myfanwy Piper, suggested the impoverished Lord Alfred Douglas for the introduction, for which he was paid five guineas. The edition was limited to 200 copies, with an additional 55 deluxe copies hand-coloured and signed by the artist.
