Primogeniture.- Ap-Robert (J.) The Younger Brother His Apologie, or A Fathers Free Power disputed, for the disposition of his Lands, second edition, first issue, woodcut decorations and initials, large device on verso of final leaf, small repaired hole in H2 with slight loss of text, later vellum by Riviere, gilt monogram on covers, [STC 716; Madan 1, p.174; Britwell Handlist vol.1, p.30], 4to, Oxford, Printed by John Lichfield for Edward Forrest, 1624 [i.e. 1634].
⁂ First published in 1618, this earlier issue of the second edition has the title dated 1624 uncorrected. In this tract the author argues that there is no offence in disinheriting the eldest son, or in parcelling estates.
Provenance: Britwell Court Library (gilt monogram on covers); apparently in a John Fleming 1958 catalogue priced at $795.
