Fencing.- Hope (Sir William) The Compleat Fencing-Master, third edition, 12 folding engraved plates, closed tear to L4 and N1 slightly affecting text, cancel title-page, occasionally trimmed close at upper edge, lacking preliminary leaf or blank, later calf, rebacked preserving original spine, joints slightly rubbed, 12mo, W. Taylor, 1710.
⁂ Rare 'third' (in fact fifth) edition with charming plates. Earlier editions appeared in 1691, 1692 and 1697 with the first edition, under the title The Scots Fencing Master, published in 1687. This edition not listed on USTC.
