Broadside.- Servants causing house fires.- Abstract of the clause in the Act of Parliament of the 6th year of Queen Ann [sic] with respect to servants carelessly setting fire to houses, engraved broadside, arms at head, folds, some offsetting, a few short marginal tears, lightly browned, mounted on thin card, 435 x 359mm., no place, no printer, [?c.1708].
⁂ A rare 18th century 'Health & Safety' notice. Any servant carelessly causing a house fire may be convicted to hard labour in a workhouse or prison upon the evidence of one credible witness. £100 in compensation will be distributed amongst those affected by the fire.
