Egypt.- Rosellini (Ippolito) I Monumenti dell'Egitto e della Nubia, 3 vol. in 5, plate vol. only, first edition, half-titles, 394 engraved plates, linen-backed, of which c.140 with full or partial hand-colouring, vol. 2 letterpress title loose, one or two marginal chips, marginal water-staining to vol. 3, some foxing and surface soiling, some light browning, ex-library copies with bookplate, small ink-stamp to titles or first plate, 19th century red half morocco, with flap to cover top-edge, library stickers to foot of spines, extremities quite worn, large folio, Pisa, Niccolò Capurro, 1832-44.

These volumes, which are his most renowned work, were based upon his 1828 expedition to Egypt, with his mentor and friend Jean Francois Champollion.
