An excellent association copy of Ekwensi's breakout debut novel. Laurence Gilliam (1907-64) was a BBC radio producer who, as head of Radio Features, had trained Ekwensi as a professional broadcaster whilst in London. Ekwensi returned to Nigeria from London where he was employed as Head of Features at the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation.
