Debtors.- [Charles II.] His Majesties Most Gracious and Royal Commission for the Relief of Poor Distressed Prisoners, large woodcut Royal Arms as frontispiece, woodcut 'Royall Oake' printer's device to title and final leaf (the latter misbound at beginning), woodcut head-piece and initial, black letter, lightly browned, a couple of spots, modern calf-backed marbled boards, by Trevor Lloyd, spine gilt with red morocco label, [Kress 1136; Wing C3133], small 4to, for M.D....Nathaniel Webb, 1664.
⁂ A commission intended to distinguish between "obstinate and wilful debtors" on the one hand, and those debtors who "were truly and indeed poor, distressed and miserable, and wanted means to satisfie their creditors".
