Orwell (George) Burmese Days, first edition, very light toning to endpapers, original cloth, slight bumping to spine tips and corners, dust-jacket, light toning to spine, spine ends and corners a little chipped, short tear with creasing to head of spine, closed tears to head and foot of upper joint, 2 short tears to foot of panels, light creasing to head, a sharp and excellent example overall, [Fenwick A.2a], 8vo, New York, 1934.
⁂ The true first edition of Orwell's first novel, published a year before its appearance in the UK, having been rejected by several publishers there for fear of libel. Rare in the dust-jacket in such excellent condition.
