Charles George Milnes Gaskell (1842-1919), lawyer and Liberal Party politician who married Lady Catherine Henrietta Wallop, a minor author. They entertained many artistic and literary figures at their home, Wenlock Abbey, Salop., including Henry James and Thomas Hardy.
